The two cruises combine!

The moment when the Keppel Rally met the Sandy Straits Cruise - the 2 cruise captains Mick and Ian T. The meeting takes place in Gary's Anchorage in the Sandy Straits.

A foggy morning in Wathumba Creek

Dawn and I woke to fog shrouded hills of Fraser Island this morning. Destiny will be heading into the Sandy Straits today.

Fabulous weather, Italian for lunch, Indian for dinner & great company, Manly Sunday

Crystal has arrived at RQ

What a wonderful day to end an amazing trip, we cruised home leisurely and arrived at 4.30pm.
No wind and very little swell all the way.
Trust the end of everyone's journey is as fabulous as ours.

Lady Musgrave

Good morning Lady Musgrave

As the sun comes up at Lady Musgrave the boats are getting ready to sail south. Restless Six, Solitaire and Camac left on first light, Crystal followed about an hour later leaving Merinda and Meleleuka to sleep on in the peaceful surrounds of Lady Musgrave for another day. Three magical days out on the reef including north west reef, Fitzroy reef, Lady Musgrave, boat parties and sundowners each night, thank you to every one for the fun, beautiful food and fresh fish. Banana Man is still trying for his first strike!! Now all the bananas have been eaten it may be Crystals turn to catch a big one...
On the way to Bundaberg we had some great up close encounters with whales and dolphins which made the sloppy conditions more interesting.

Some valuable items found!

Makes the hunt worthwhile I think ...... just don’t tell Ol’ Capn’ Jobe!

Treasure Contents

Opening and hosing off the booty – lots of very sticky sweets and chocolates – not worth much now ....

Ol' Capn' Jobes Treasure - Found!

The mystery is over – the treasure has been found.

It seems that 2 forces have combined to bring the long hidden treasure to light.

Bush turkeys were seen in the area and had been digging wildly – obviously something in the treasure was to a birds liking!

They may have unearthed it – but those damn rubbish bin clips are pretty hard to open with a beak and a couple of skinny claws!

So it was left on the surface to be taken by a tide – but no! The legged tree did its job and kept it local – washed backwards and forwards ensuring all the contents were wet!

And that is how the crew of MV Destiny found it – lying in the dry creek bed – still closed but full of water!

More photos to follow of the mysterious contents .....
